Zannone Island is accessible by boat from Ponza. Several fishermen and cooperatives leave from the Port of Ponza for the traverse. The boats land (they cannot stop) in loc. del Varo, where the trail with steps surrounded by the characteristic Mediterranean maquis leaves, leading to the former Hunting House (not accessible at the moment). Nearby, you will find the rests of the Benedictine monastery built in 504 and abandoned 3 centuries later because of the raids of the Saracen pirates.
